If you’ve been dreaming of getting married on a mountaintop, then you need to check out this colorful Steamboat wedding!
But first, I want to share more about this sweet couples story! While Kevin and Emily currently live in St. Louis, they both grew up in Steamboat, Colorado. So it was only fitting that their love story came full circle, and they got married there! After getting ready, everyone took the ski lifts up to the top of Steamboat Resort for the ceremony. Like many people in town, this resort is where they grew up skiing/snowboarding. And it’s actually the spot where they had their first kiss! Their ceremony and portrait locations were both meaningful and beautiful, with stunning 360 degree mountain views!
After the ceremony, everyone headed back into town for a reception at Old Town Pub. Kevin actually used to work there, so it was the perfect place for them to celebrate. Not to mention, Old Town Pub has the best vibes and shares so much rich history with Steamboat.
Although it was filled with lots of “history” in their love story, this day was anything but traditional. From smoking joints on the way to the ceremony to the wedding party wearing custom Nike’s, they made their wedding day unique to who they are!
Keep reading to be inspired by this untraditional, joy-filled Steamboat wedding day!
Sadly, both of Emily’s parents have passed, so her brothers walked her down the aisle. Such a sweet moment shared between siblings!
If you look closely, then you’ll notice the sentimental details on Emily’s bouquet. The lace wrapped around it was from her mom’s wedding dress, and the locket held a photo of her parents on their wedding day. This detail was an endearing way to have her parents “with her” throughout their wedding day.
Just before sunset, we climbed up a *sketchy lol* ladder to get to the rooftop. It was such a cool place to capture their golden hour portraits!
They were hoping for a party to dance all night long and let me tell you, it was a RAGER!! They ended the day celebrating with all their friends and family in the most fun way.
