My mission has always been to honor people, their stories, and the landscapes they call home. Whether you’re planning a laid-back elopement in the mountains or a cozy micro wedding surrounded by your favorite humans, your day deserves to feel deeply personal and rooted in meaning, not expectation.
The beauty of an intimate celebration is the world is pretty much your oyster. Say I do at a cozy rental home with magical mountain views, at the intimate wedding venue of your dreams, on the shore of an alpine lake, or simply right in your backyard with dinner under the stars. It’s about following what feels good deep in your bones, not what tradition says it should look like.
When we work together, you get to breathe, slow down, and actually be in it. I’ll blend into the rhythm of your day, documenting the emotions, quiet pauses, and every fleeting second that makes it yours. Every moment, big or small, loud or still – it’s all worth telling and it’s all worth remembering.

– ANDREW & THERESA
“Our wedding photos that Rachel captured felt so authentically us, but somehow photogenic and effortless. She made us feel so comfortable, confident and FUN from start to end. I trusted her with the biggest day of photos in my life, and I’d do it again! In a world where wedding planning decision fatigue is running wild, I can assure you hiring Rachel was one of the best decisions we made!”
LET'S DO THIS
You’re dreaming of a day that unfolds slowly, one filled with intention, laughter, and the people who know you best. The kind where the morning feels calm, the details hold deep meaning, and the whole day feels like an extension of your story. When it's all over, you want to look back and remember how it felt – every glance, touch, and every bit of warmth that surrounded you.
That’s what I’ll help you hold onto.
PRESS PLAY ON MEMORY
Super 8 is nostalgia in motion. It’s grainy, imperfect, and full of heart. It’s sunlight spilling through the trees, wind catching your hair, the blur of a hug you never wanted to end. Every frame holds that quiet, cinematic kind of magic that makes you feel like you’re watching a memory unfold, soft around the edges and full of emotion you can almost touch.
With my beautiful vintage Canon 814 & Canon 310XL in hand, I’ll document your day on real rolls of film. Your first home movie will be hand-crafted with intention, a blend of artistry and honesty that lets you feel your day long after it’s over.
Meet Me Out There
Whether your vibe is exploring a part of Rocky Mountain National Park or grabbing a cup of jo at your favorite coffee shop in town (or both!), I’m all about capturing your love wherever you feel most alive and the most you. What do you do together on a Saturday night? How do you spend Sunday mornings? Do you love exploring new spots or trails? Whatever it is – hell yeah, let's go!

YOUR EXPERIENCE MATTERS
There are four things at the heart of my photography: Connection, Individuality, Storytelling and Honesty + Kindness. They are my waypoints – the guiding light to ensure you get the best experience possible. Beyond these, you can expect my work to capture the genuine emotion of each moment with galleries that have true-to-color editing, enhanced with a hint of filmy goodness to evoke a sense of nostalgia. Have more questions or want to meet? Hell yeah! Reach out to me here.
The connection between you and your partner, with your closest circle, and with me. Before I even pick up my camera, I’ve got a kick-ass questionnaire that I send out after you book, and I spend a lot of time really digging into who you are. Because when we’re out there, and I see that initial nervousness fade, replaced by comfort and genuine connection, that’s what makes my heart beat fastest. That’s when I know we’re creating memories worth remembering.
Your day is about celebrating you and your person having found each other on this beautiful earth. So do it in a way that feels fucking right to you! Watching you weave in all those pieces of you into your wedding day? That’s as magical as a moon rise. If acts of service are your jam, you bet I’ll be there to capture when they hold your dress train for you or when they do something that I’ve learned is just so them. Your individuality is worth capturing, and I’m here to celebrate the hell out of it.
Pulling back to show you and your love against the vastness of your surroundings. The way the light hits the mountain, the flowers that are blooming, your grandmother’s necklace – all those little things that make this moment your moment. When you look through your gallery, I want you to see it all: the big, sweeping landscapes, the intimate close-ups, and every detail that made your day special.
I never try to force anything to look different than how it naturally is – because what’s real is already beautiful. Not only do I want you to be honest with who you are, but I want that honest version of you reflected in every photograph. For me, a large part of this is inclusivity and wanting every couple – regardless of how their love story looks – to feel at home here. You are absolutely accepted and celebrated for who you are, for who you love, and for how you love.
Yes BUT only in certain counties. In Colorado you’re able to self-solemnize your marriage, which allows your dog to press their paw print on the witness lines of your marriage license.
However, some counties do not permit paw prints on the license. For example, El Paso County (Colorado Springs), Denver County and Arapahoe County have officially said they will no longer accept paw prints from pets.
So, yes: your pup can sign, if the county clerk’s office in the county where you get your license is cool with it. I highly recommend calling to confirm by simply asking “Do you accept pet paw-prints on the marriage license?” That way you ensure your license doesn’t run into issues down the road.
Absolutely—yes. Every couple deserves to feel seen, celebrated, and safe while getting married in Colorado (or anywhere, honestly). I’m here for queer love in all its forms, and it’s incredibly important to me that the vendors involved in your micro wedding or elopement feel the same way.
If you’re planning a Colorado micro wedding or elopement and you want to make sure you’re surrounded by people who genuinely support you. From inclusive officiants, florists, lodging hosts, and planners, I only recommend LGBTQ+-affirming vendors I trust.
Your wedding day should feel comfortable and true to who you are. I’m all in on creating that kind of experience, documenting your connection, and making sure you feel taken care of every step of the way.
Colorado makes getting married stupid easy. You can self-solemnize here, which means you don’t need an officiant or witnesses. You pick up a marriage license from the county clerk’s office, sign it on your wedding day, and return it after. Boom. Married.
This is one of the biggest reasons Colorado elopements and micro weddings feel so personal and laid back, you have full control over making your day your own.
If you want a full breakdown of the process, I wrote a complete guide on how to legally get married in Colorado that covers exactly what to expect and how to make sure everything is official.
Fuck yeah. Eloping in Colorado doesn’t have to mean running off just the two of you (unless that’s the dream). Your elopement can absolutely include your favorite humans.
Whether that’s 5 people or 15, we can plan a day that feels intimate, relaxed, and centered on connection, with a killer view in the mountains or a cozy Airbnb where the celebration turns into a weekend hang.
A lot of Colorado elopement locations are incredibly accessible for families and friends, and I’ll help you navigate permits, logistics, and timelines so everyone has the best time.
At the end of the day, it’s simple: bring the people who show up for you. Leave the rest off the invite list, and let’s make this feel like the best weekend ever… just with vows.
The short answer: there’s no bad time, but each season has its own vibe.
Spring means fewer crowds + snowy mountain peaks, but the weather can change on a dime and it’s typically more muddy. Summer is golden hour hikes, wildflowers, and warm nights with your favorite people on a cabin patio. Fall is the most popular for Colorado elopements, imagine endless gold aspen trees and snow starting to dust the high peaks. Winter? Absolute magic. Snow, coziness, hot drinks, fireplaces… it’s chef’s kiss if you don’t mind a little adventure in the cold.
If you’re hoping for those wide-open mountain views without a million tourists, I usually suggest weekdays, sunrise, orrrrrr one of my off the beaten path locations (no, that doesn’t mean we have to hike 10 miles).
We’ll chat through the colors you’re imagining, the activities you want to include, and how much weather chaos you’re cool with (Colorado brings the chaos any time of the year honestly haha) — and pick the season that makes your day feel perfect.
Hellllll yes — this is one of my favorite parts of helping couples plan their Colorado micro wedding. There are so many cozy cabins, modern A-frames, mountain homes, and boutique lodges here that make the perfect home base for an intimate celebration.
While some vacation rental platforms have rules about hosting weddings, I’ll help you find venues, lodges, and private rentals that are actually wedding-friendly. I keep a running list of killer spots across the state, everywhere from Breckenridge and Estes Park to Buena Vista, Telluride, and beyond.
We’ll talk about how many guests you’re inviting, how accessible the location needs to be, the kind of scenery you love, and whether you want the celebration to turn into a full weekend hang. Then I’ll send over options that fit your exact vibe so you can relax and get excited about being all in one place with your favorite people.
Colorado weather is… a little unhinged. It can be sunny, rainy, hailing, windy, and then sunny again all within the same hour. But that’s part of the fun, it often makes the day even more memorable and the photos next level epic.
I always build backup options into your timeline and locations so we can pivot if we need to. We can shift to a more sheltered spot, pause for a bit and head back out when things clear, or lean into the cozy vibes with jackets, blankets, and a slower pace. Some of the best moments happen in the in-between.
But here’s the deal: if the weather reaches the point where you’re not going to enjoy your day or my gear is at risk, we don’t force it. We reschedule. Your elopement or micro wedding should feel like the best day ever—not a survival challenge haha. We’ll make the call together and make sure you still get the celebration you deserve.
Super 8 is real film — like honest-to-god rolls of Kodak stock loaded into a vintage camera that’s been capturing life long before we were here. After your wedding, I send those rolls to the film lab to be developed. It takes time, but that wait is part of the magic. That’s what gives it that nostalgic, cinematic, “instant memory” vibe everyone (me included) is obsessed with.
Soundwise, the original cameras don’t record audio, but if you want your vows, a letter to each other, or those “holy shit we’re married” laughs layered in, I’ll mic you up and weave it into the final film. It ends up feeling like the best home movie you’ve ever seen, the kind you watch years from now and instantly get thrown right back into that moment.
Most Super 8 wedding films end up around 3–5 minutes long. The perfect length to hit you in the gut with nostalgia and still leave you wanting to watch it again (and again).
Couples love Super 8 because it makes the energy of the day come to life. Imagine reliving how the wind felt in your hair or your hands squeezing tight, the champagne popping a little too hard, and your people laughing in the background. The grain, the flicker, the light leaks… it all feels like rewatching a memory instead of watching a camera try to document it. It’s gloriously imperfect in the most magical way — emotional and nostalgic. And that’s exactly why it hits so damn hard.
Absolutely. While a lot of my couples book both photography and Super 8 videography together, you can 1000% hire me just as your Colorado Super 8 wedding videographer. If you already have a photographer you love, no problem—I’ll be there capturing the motion, the energy, and all the little moments that deserve to live on film, turning your celebration into a nostalgic home movie you’ll never get over.
I offer standalone Super 8 film coverage for elopements, micro weddings, and even full wedding weekends. And yes, I’ll travel anywhere. If your celebration takes us from any corner of Colorado to the red desert landscapes of Utah, the rocky Oregon coast, or even international, I’ll happily pack my film and meet you there.
