Aimee and Megan share a love for the outdoors and adventure, so it was a no-brainer when they wanted me to capture their Colorado engagement photos in the mountains. Mountains are really important to them and are a big part of their relationship and who they are as individuals. Not only did they take their engagement photos in the mountains, but they also got engaged at Emerald Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park!
When it comes to their adventures in the mountains, they’ve been on countless backpacking trips together. It’s some of their fondest memories together. Beyond the mountains, both Aimee and Megan race in Ironmans (long-distance triathlons). Megan recently finished her second full, and both of them have done half Ironmans.
After considering a few different mountain locations for their engagement photos, we decided on Loveland Pass because of its proximity to the front range and its “wow effect,” which Aimee and Megan really wanted. It’s only about one hour west of Denver which makes it super accessible, not to mention stunning. Loveland Pass is one of my favorite locations to suggest to couples looking for an epic Colorado mountain view! At the end of the engagement session, the entire sky lit up with one of the best sunsets we have ever seen! Definitely a special way to end the night. I cannot wait to capture their micro wedding day at The Summit in May!
